The story spins around Gautam Khanna (Saif Ali Khan), Veronica D’Costa (Deepika Padukone) and Meera Gupta (Diana Penty). Gautam Khanna (Saif Ali Khan) consistently had a fantasy to go to London and have some work. His fantasy is satisfied and he finds a new line of work. In any case, his mother, Nita (Dimple Kapadia) says that she needs to settle his union with a young lady thus he needs to pause. She finds her ideal ‘bahu’ in Meera Gupta (Diana Penty). However, she doesn’t enlighten Gautam regarding this and tells Meera’s folks even to not tell Meera. She advises Gautam to accept her companion’s little girl Meera as she has a task in London for 3 days. On the flight, Meera and Gautam become a close acquaintence with one another.
